Many kids books are exciting! Fun rhymes, bright pictures, silly sounds, and cute animals keep us turning the colorful pages and reading the books over and over.

Sometimes books are calming, too. A good bedtime story makes my eyelids so heavy! Once in a while I dream about the stories from my books. Does that happen to you, too?

Most of us spend a lot of time in the towns and cities that we live in. Books can show us how kids live all around the country and the world. We can learn how the buildings, weather, plants, and animals might be different in different places. Books can even show us what it’s like in outer space, or at Santa’s house. It’s like traveling, but using just your mind.
