The “holiday season” may be over, but we still have plenty to celebrate. February has one of my favorite holidays: Valentine’s Day.
The day gets its name in honor of St. Valentine, and I like to celebrate it by giving heart-shaped cards to my friends to tell them I love them. Like many holidays, Valentine’s Day is known for its desserts.
As you may know, I LOVE sweets. Mice eat around 15 to 20 times a day. On Valentine’s Day it might be closer to 25. Strawberries are my go-to snacks when I get hungry. They’re delicious, and healthy, and they look like hearts when they’re cut in half!
There’s a super duper easy Strawberry Shortcake recipe you can make to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year! All you need is strawberries, whipped cream, and shortcake.
- Wash and slice the strawberries
- Set a piece of shortcake on a plate
- Put a little bit of whipped cream on it
- Plop your strawberries onto the whipped cream
- Top it off with even more whipped cream
That’s all there is to it! You could even repeat the steps to make it a double- or triple-decker sandwich. Yum!
In addition to Valentine’s Day cards and shortcakes, give your loved ones the gift of reading. Send them a Martin the Mouse Book Club Package!
